Yesodos
Tragically and without pointing fingers, despite our best intentions and efforts to teach them, there are children who know everything about "Kabalas Ol Mitzvos" but next to nothing about "Kabalas Ol Malchus Shamayim". As a result, their Mitzvah performance is not as meaningful as it should be and they are not growing to their potential.
And some of our precious children are not able to face today's constant dangers their Emunah. Their knowledge of Emunah is so superficial that they are defenseless when their Emunah is challenged. They are just one adversity away from a crisis in faith or worse - a complete loss of faith.
We must not believe that our very young children cannot learn or understand the ideas of Emunah and Bitachon. We should teach our children Emunah concepts from the earliest opportunity and build a strong foundation that can be reinforced through other studies as well as attempting to build Emunah itself.
Our most ambitious project is The Yesodos Curriculum.
The Yesodos Curriculum is a top quality extracurricular
learning incentive program where children receive prizes
for successfully completing units designed to teach basic
through advanced Emunah. It should be clear that we are
not suggesting that we teach our kids the complexities of
sophisticated Emunah concepts. But we should teach our children
basic Emunah
at their level and if we try we can present these basics
in an effective way. It is worth the investment because
a solid Emunah
foundation may be the single greatest gift we can give our
children.
